Information for your holiday at Gradonna ****s Mountain Resort
We offer a weekly activity and outdoor programme featuring guided tours, yoga, fitness, special sauna sessions and much more.
All rooms and chalets are equipped with hypoallergenic pillows and duvets.
Our kitchen team is happy to cater for the following dietary requirements:
- Vegan | Gluten intolerance | Lactose intolerance | Intolerance to specific foods (e.g. hazelnuts, tomatoes or seafood) – cross-allergies are excluded
Please contact us before booking or making a reservation. In the case of allergies such as histamine allergy, cross-allergies or combined intolerances, please understand that we cannot give a blanket assurance in advance. However, if you specify which products you can tolerate, we will be happy to discuss this with our kitchen team.
On the day of arrival, rooms, suites and chalets are available from 3.00 pm, or from 4.00 pm in summer.
Please complete your registration form at reception.
On the day of departure, we ask that you vacate your rooms, suites and chalets by 10.30 am.
Once your suitcases are packed, our luggage service will be happy to assist you – please let reception know if you require help with your luggage (ext. 700).
Please hand in your room key in person at reception.
Please note that in the event of late arrival or early departure, the Austrian Hotel Regulations will apply.

Information on the consultation hours of GPs, the pharmacies in Huben and Matrei, and Lienz Hospital is available at reception.
The resort grounds are car-free. One underground parking space is available per hotel room and chalet (for more information, see ‘Parking/Garage’). On arrival and departure, the hotel will transport your luggage to the chalet (please arrange a time for your departure day at reception).
The fluffy hotel bathrobes and a toiletries bag are provided in your room or chalet. They are available for you to use throughout your stay (new bathrobes and toiletries bags are available to purchase from the hotel shop to take home). We also provide your own personal loden slippers in your room; you are welcome to take these home with you and purchase more from the hotel shop. Should you wish to have your bathrobes changed, please contact the spa reception.
Access to the hotel bar and afternoon tea is only permitted whilst wearing a bathrobe in the designated area.
Bath towels and hand towels for the sauna and swimming pool are available directly at the Gradonna****s Mountain Spa.
The nearest railway station is in Lienz (33 km away).
Shuttle service: We’d be happy to organise a free transfer to the station for you, provided you book in advance (at least 2 days’ notice) (please note there may be a wait).
Alternatively, you can travel by train to Mittersill (64 km away).

A thorough and high-quality training programme, combined with the many years of experience of the Kals mountain guides in alpine terrain guarantee unforgettable mountain experiences.
On the 3rd floor, there is a small but lovely library where you can find something to read whilst you’re on holiday. Magazines and the latest newspapers are available at the delicatessen.
Our guests have free access to a bouldering room and a climbing wall (next to Alpinsport Gratz). You can gain access to the bouldering room via reception (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult).

Crockery:
The chalet is equipped with crockery, cutlery, pots and glasses for 8 people, as well as high-quality electrical appliances. We’ll be happy to help if you have any questions about how to use the appliances.
Infrared:
Use of the infrared cabins in the chalets is free of charge.
Fireplace:
On arrival, you will find a bundle of firewood with kindling ready for a cosy open fire in the fireplace. Further bundles of firewood are available from the delicatessen.
Repairs:
Should any repairs be required, please note these on the repair form or contact reception directly (ext. 700)
- You will find charging points for your electric car in the underground car park. Payment is made via your credit card or fleet card. The current price is displayed on each occasion.
Whether it’s a souvenir to take home, a drink for the journey, regional specialities or daily newspapers, the on-site delicatessen offers a wide range of food, regional delicacies, souvenirs and everyday essentials such as toiletries, and much more.

Our in-house fitness centre is equipped with Technogym machines. Information on introductory training sessions and other fitness activities is available at the Mountain Spa reception.
The nearest airports are in Klagenfurt (185 km away), Salzburg (166 km away) and Innsbruck (183 km away). Further information is available from reception.

Whether you’re looking for a new hairstyle, a colour treatment or a relaxing hair wash – at the hotel’s own hair salon, we’ll pamper you and your hair from head to toe. Please book your appointment in good time at the Mountain Spa reception.

Our professionally trained Mountain Spa team will be happy to advise you on beauty treatments and massages. Please book your preferred appointment for facials and body treatments in good time (Spa reception, ext. 707).
The wellness area is a zone dedicated entirely to relaxation and tranquillity. We ask you to respect this and to avoid loud conversations, as well as ringtones and computer sounds. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted.
Do you have a voucher with you? Please hand it in at reception as soon as you arrive so that we can process it straight away.
Would you like to surprise your loved ones with a voucher? The reception team will be happy to advise you.
The main entrance door by reception is closed from 10.00 pm to 7.00 am. Please use the night entrance in the underground car park (using your room card).
We charge a daily cleaning fee for your dog (see ‘Useful Information: Hotel’ and ‘Useful Information: Chalet’). For hygiene reasons, pets are not permitted in the wellness and spa area or in the restaurants.
Please remember to take dog waste bags with you on walks and to dispose of them appropriately when necessary. There are two dog waste stations within the resort, stocked with dog waste bags. If you require any other items such as food bowls, dog towels, etc., we’ll be happy to help.
Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel and in the chalets (please accept the terms of use – no password required).
On arrival, the security deposit for the chalet (€300.00) is due; please pay this in cash at reception. This will be refunded to you provided the chalet, including its contents, is left in good order. Please arrange a handover appointment with reception before you leave.
For our younger guests, we provide all the necessary facilities, such as cots, nappy-changing mats, baby monitors, high chairs, a children’s playroom, a children’s menu and much more.
In our light-filled, sunny kids’ club, children feel completely at home. At the woodland playground, they can have a wonderful time exploring nature. Our nursery staff organise fantastic activities to ensure there’s never a dull moment (for children aged 3 and over).
In winter, a practice lift (magic carpet) is available right next to the hotel for little ones to take their first turns on the slopes.

Your appearance plays a key role in creating the stylish ambience of our establishment. We would appreciate it if you could wear appropriate, understated clothing to maintain the atmosphere of the hotel, and we kindly ask that you do not wear tracksuits, ski wear, bath slippers, bathrobes or similar items in the restaurant and dining areas. Bathrobes are only permitted in the designated area of the day bar.
Please book your preferred appointment for beauty treatments, therapies and massages in good time at the Mountain Spa reception, ideally before you arrive. Our highly trained Mountain Spa team will be happy to advise you.

In the resort’s public areas, works of art by various local artists regularly catch the eye.
- Larger-than-life, naturalistic Swiss stone pine figures by the East Tyrolean artist Peter Niedertscheider
- ‘Energy paintings’ by Birgit Schröttner-Thurner, created using homemade plant-based dyes
- Powerful, large-format oil paintings by Helena Maria Schorn

Every floor is easily accessible by lift. From midnight onwards, for security reasons, the lifts will only operate with a valid room card (hold the card up to the reader and select your floor). During the day, the tower lift also operates exclusively with authorised room cards for the tower rooms.
In your bathroom, you’ll find dispensers containing soap and shampoo from our high-quality natural cosmetics range ‘MAGDALENA’s made in Tyrol’ are available in your bathroom.
We heat our premises in a completely carbon-neutral way using our own 1,500 kW biofuel heating system (wood chips).
The night entrance is located by the hotel entrance in the underground car park – you can open the door with your key card (the card reader is to the left of the entrance). The main entrance is open from 07.00 to 22.00.

Please park your car in the underground car park – one free parking space is available per room or chalet (free choice of space). The barrier opens with your room card. The barrier opens automatically when you leave.
The chalet grounds are car-free. On arrival and departure, the hotel will transport your luggage to the chalet (please arrange a time for your departure day at reception).
An ashtray is provided on your room’s balcony and in designated areas.
Smoking is prohibited inside the chalets – you may smoke on the terrace of your chalet (please use the ashtray and do not dispose of cigarette ends on the premises).
Umbrellas are available to borrow from reception.
You can pay for your drinks and food cash-free using your chalet or room card. You can view your bill at any time on the television.

During the summer months, a Gradonna rucksack is available in your room on loan for you to use free of charge throughout your stay. You can purchase the rucksack as a souvenir from the delicatessen.
There is a safe in every room and chalet for storing your valuables. You are also welcome to leave them at reception.
You will find automatic shoe-shining machines in the basement near the night entrance, as well as by the lift on the 3rd and 4th floors.
As well as its stunning surroundings, our hotel offers a professional and comprehensive range of facilities for successful conferences, seminars and incentive events. Your seminar participants can look forward to flexible seminar rooms, top-class facilities, an attractive supporting programme, and 4-star superior comfort and service.
With the free summit ticket, our guests enjoy free access to the open summer mountain railways in the surrounding area. Valid during opening hours at the following mountain railways:

The specialist sports shop Alpinsport Gratz is located right inside the hotel and, in addition to professional and comprehensive advice and a superbly stocked sports shop, offers sports equipment and clothing for hire for your outdoor adventures in Kals am Großglockner (ski hire, mountain bike hire, e-bike hire, and much more).

Throughout the Gradonna****s Mountain Resort, you can enjoy crystal-clear, fresh and naturally pure mountain spring water straight from the tap, sourced from our very own Gradonna spring, which rises from the rock face of the Blauspitz. You can drink the tap water without any concerns – even the shower water is safe to drink.
Tip: Fill the water carafe with the Swiss stone pine stopper in your room and enjoy the wonderful mountain spring water.
For security reasons, some areas of the hotel complex are under CCTV surveillance, including the underground car park, reception and the swimming pool.
In the interests of the environment, we generally only change our hotel guests’ towels and bed linen if the guest requests it or if they are heavily soiled. If you would like fresh bed linen, please place the card provided on the bed. Please place towels on the floor if you would like them changed.
Information on linen changes in the chalet:
The final clean of your chalet is included in the accommodation price. Your chalet will not be cleaned during your stay. You can arrange for an additional cleaning service at reception for a fee (DW 700) – information on prices is available at reception or in your chalet information pack.
You can set a wake-up call by telephone – or contact the reception team on extension 700.
Over 300 different wines – mostly from Austria – including genuine rarities and treasures, are stored in our wine cellar, where we also offer wine and schnapps tastings. You can obtain further information directly from our service staff.
Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel and in the chalets (please confirm the terms of use).
You can purchase a selection of Austrian and international newspapers and magazines from the hotel shop.
The chalet or room card unlocks not only your room but also the night entrance, and serves as a credit card for your purchases during your stay. Please keep the card safe and report any loss to reception immediately. We accept no liability for any damage resulting from the loss of your chalet or room card.
