Living and experiencing in the nature of the Alps: The Gradonna ****s Mountain Resort in Kals am Großglockner offers impressive views of the peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park and the East Tyrolean mountains at an altitude of 1,500 metres. The car-free wellness resort and luxury chalets are located directly on the piste and in the hiking area at the entrance to the national park.

The architecture takes up the landscape and skilfully continues it, so that the hotel complex and the village of luxurious chalets virtually merge with the environment. Large glass fronts and wooden shingles on the façade as well as local materials such as wood and stone in the interior allow the resort to gently become one with nature. This approach is continued in the interior design of the rooms and chalets. Kals marble and natural materials such as spruce wood, linen and loden, combined with wooden sculptures, create a down-to-earth yet exclusive touch. In the bedrooms, Swiss stone pine creates a pleasant atmosphere and increases the quality of sleep and well-being.

Larger-than-life, naturalistic Swiss stone pine figures by East Tyrolean artist Peter Niedertscheider attract attention in the resort. Birgit Schröttner-Thurner's "energy paintings" made from homemade plant colours spread good vibes. Powerful and large-format oil paintings by Austrian artist Helene Maria Schorn allow the viewer to experience unique views of the world of the Hohe Tauern. The academic painter and Lienz artist Lois Salcher sets accents in the resort with his works, in which colour pigments become the main protagonists. The artist Helmut Strobl from Patsch in Tyrol built the Maximilian Chapel in summer 2019 - a place to pause and reflect.

Families are very welcome at Gradonna ****s Mountain Resort. To ensure that every day of your family holiday is an adventure for the kids, our kids' club offers an extensive programme, which takes place outdoors in summer, weather permitting.

We offer a weekly activity & leisure programme with guided tours, yoga, special fitness infusions, events, activities, tastings and much more. Information about the current Gradonna weekly programme is available at reception, in the morning post at the breakfast table and on the TV in your room.
Accessibility was largely taken into account when the hotel was built in 2012. The resort was tested for accessibility by the Tyrolean association RollOn.
